Apiary: research and production

Our apiary offers bee colonies and bee queens belonging to the local breed, also honey and other bee products.

Bees give people very valuable gifts of honey, propolis, beebread, bee collected pollen, royal jelly, comb cappings and others. These products differ much in their origin, composition, properties and the importance for people.

Honey is the main bee product. It contains more than 100 different components and gets its sweetness from the monosaccharides glucose and fructose. Some of the minerals found in honey include calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium and zinc. Honey normalizes gastric activity, is prescribed for cardiac insufficiency, myocarditis, hypertonia and atherosclerosis.

Pollen is rich in vitamins А, Е, С, D, РР, К and contains potassium, iron, copper, cobalt, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, manganese, chromium, iodine, plant hormones and antioxidants, phenolic compounds, which have anti-sclerotic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, choleretic, antitumor effect and strengthens capillaries. In general, pollen contains 50 biologically active compounds, which are beneficial to health, and 240 substances that are necessary to regulate biochemical processes in the body.

The bees that died during hibernation in winter or near hives during summer are used as an immune boosting product. Dead bees are prescribed for prostate adenoma, pain in spinal column and joints, mastitis, Giardia lamblia infection, varicose veins.

 The laboratory of apiculture provides the following services:

  • Works on the breeding, reproduction and distribution of healthy queen bees and bee colonies belonging to the local breed.

The bees of this breed are resistant to cold, hardworking and cunning in the search for food sources and characterized by early development in spring. Due to their peaceful nature and resilience, it does not require a lot of efforts and time from a bee keeper to maintain the bee hives. These bees are skillful pollinators of buckwheat, fruit and berry crops, clover and more than 300 other entomophilic plant species.

  • Produces high quality packages of bees with four and six frames.
  • Develops and introduces technologies for the production of fertile queen bees and royal jelly.
  • Offers consultation services regarding general bee keeping and disease control and prevention.
  • Refines guidelines on the preparation and use of supplemental feeding to improve cold resistance and facilitate development in spring.
  • Conducts research upon request.

Our monofloral and buckwheat honey received the main prize for the best product on the exhibition “The food products of Primorsky krai”.

Beebread is a ball or pellet of field-gathered flower pollen that went thought the process of lactic acid fermentation and then was packed by worker honeybees for storage in comb. Adult bees prepare beebread to feed it to larvae. A larva increases its weight by 1500 times in 3 days. No other food product in the world have the same biological activity. Beebread is prescribed for malignant anemia, nervous and endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal diseases. It produces general beneficial effect on human health, increases hemoglobin level and the number of erythrocytes in blood, can be used as dietary supplement and for skin care. Beebread is hypoallergenic and can be safely added to the diet of any person.

Comb cappings form a thin layer of wax covering the full cells of honey. It is highly effective against bacterial and virus diseases and hypoallergenic. Comb capping components improve metabolism, have a positive effect on blood circulation and muscle performance while the wax strengthens the gums.

Royal jelly contains proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, mineral compounds and vitamins. It dilates blood vessels, reduces blood pressure, strengthens the body, enhances physical endurance, stimulates nervous system and regulates lipid metabolism. It is prescribed for angina and asthma.

 We are open to collaboration with agro-industrial enterprises, companies involved in food production and processing, collective agribusinesses of different types, private farms and amateur beekeepers.
